About Us

Our History

Lowes Drug Inc has been meeting the medical needs of Blount County and the surrounding counties for over 55 years. Founded by Oren D. Lowe and Charlie Womac in 1954 at its current location on E. Broadway Avenue. The pharmacy was complete with a popular soda fountain and plate lunches. It was a place of gathering and is still remembered today.

Even though the soda fountain is no longer at Lowes, the excellent service and community feel are still vibrant. On July 1, 1984, the current owners, Steve Caldwell, DPH and Steve Myers, DPH, bought the store. Since then, the store has continued to grow and expand its services. There are seven pharmacists on staff available to answer your medical questions. We are here to provide professional service to you and your family.
